V2 Gets a Lower-Kv Winding — It Pulls Harder in Every Gear

Since this post went live we've confirmed a key detail about how the V2 M560 puts power down: it uses a winding with roughly 15% lower Kv than the outgoing motor. Kv is the motor's velocity constant — the RPM it spins for every volt you feed it. Lower the Kv and you trade a sliver of top-end spin for a proportional gain in twisting force. Put simply, the V2 is wound to pull, not just to rev.

Because torque scales inversely with Kv, that ~15% drop means the 2000W V2 motor makes proportionally more torque at any given current — and it does so in every gear. Where the previous motor might have you hunting for the right cog on a steep, technical pitch, the V2 simply digs in and drives: more grunt off the bottom, more authority mid-climb, and more margin when the trail kicks up on you unexpectedly.

A note on the numbers: we have not yet independently bench-verified the V2's peak torque figure. On stock gearing — a 38T front chainring with a 29" x 2.4" rear tire — the V2 tops out at about 39 mph in Off-Road Only mode, roughly 1 mph off the outgoing motor. Want the full 40 mph? Step the front chainring up to 40T and you're right back to it. Either way you give up a whisker at the very top end and gain a meaningfully harder-pulling motor everywhere below it — a trade almost every enduro rider will take without a second thought.

And it's more efficient for it. Real-world torque rises roughly in proportion to the RPM the motor gives up, and because the V2 reaches the torque you need at lower RPM, it spends more of every ride inside its efficient operating band instead of screaming near the top of its range. More time in that sweet spot means less wasted heat, steadier delivery under load, and better use of every watt-hour in the 1050Wh pack. Net result: the V2 2000W M560 pulls harder in every gear, gives up almost nothing at the top, and runs more efficiently doing it.
